Mike Dorrell is an author and poet. A Welshman, Mike spent much of his young life in Britain, and he says he learned his craft as a re-write man, novelizing radio mysteries for the BBC. “The Scrimshaw Skeleton,” first in a trilogy of novels set in Wales, introduces us to the brilliant and complicated Detective Chief Inspector Gwendraeth James. SPI developed this site to market the book. It includes a homepage that features the author (Mike), and in the background, a major “character” from the book, a castle in ruins, all set in a dark and foreboding landscape. SPI designed the hard cover book, and produced an audible.com version that Mike himself reads. But what really sets “The Scrimshaw Skeleton” apart from all others is a nuanced online video reading by Mike – all chapters, also produced by SPI. Mike’s site also features poetry, video readings, and a blog.
